Position Summary:
The Institutional Effectiveness Officer/Registrar is an administrative leader responsible for overseeing the university’s institutional research, planning, and accreditation efforts, while also managing all aspects of student academic records and registration. This dual-role position ensures institutional accountability, continuous improvement, and the integrity of student data, policies, and processes. The ideal candidate combines strategic vision with operational excellence to support data-informed decision-making and compliance with academic regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Institutional Effectiveness:
- Lead institutional research, assessment, and planning initiatives to support continuous improvement, accreditation, and strategic goals.
- Coordinate university-wide data collection, analysis, and reporting related to academic programs, student outcomes, and institutional performance.
- Serve as the university’s liaison to accreditation agencies (e.g., regional and programmatic accreditors).
- Support academic and administrative units in developing and using outcomes assessment tools for program review and improvement.
- Manage external reporting obligations (e.g., IPEDS, state higher education boards, rankings).
- Facilitate campus-wide strategic planning, including the tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) and outcomes.
- Provide executive leadership with analytical reports and dashboards to guide decision-making.
Registrar Functions:
- Oversee all academic recordkeeping functions, including registration, transcripts, grading, degree conferral, and catalog management.
- Ensure compliance with FERPA, academic policies, and all relevant federal/state regulations.
- Lead the development and enforcement of academic policies and procedures in collaboration with academic leadership.
- Manage the academic calendar, course scheduling, and classroom assignments in coordination with deans and department chairs.
- Supervise and train Registrar Office staff to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Administer student information systems and ensure the accuracy and security of student data.
- Coordinate commencement operations, including degree audits and graduation clearance.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Institutional Research, Data Analytics, or a related field required.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in institutional research, assessment, academic administration, or registrar functions.
- Experience with accreditation processes and reporting.
- Demonstrated experience managing student records systems.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; proficiency in data tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS, Tableau, SQL).
- Deep understanding of FERPA, accreditation standards, and academic policy development.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across academic and administrative units.
- High attention to detail, data integrity, and confidentiality.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
