Job Summary: The Kitchen Aide supports daily food service operations in our residential treatment center’s industrial kitchen, ensuring that all meals are prepared and served in compliance with strict health, safety, and regulatory standards. This role assists with food preparation, dishwashing, inventory management, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and dining areas. The Kitchen Aide plays an important part in supporting clients’ nutritional needs while helping the facility remain audit-ready at all times.
Minimum qualifications:
- Current Food Handler’s License
- Valid California Driver's License and Proof of Automobile Insurance
- 2 + year experience in kitchen setting
- First Aid/CPR Certified
Proficiencies:
- Knowledge of basic food preparation practices, common table setting, and the ability to learn the methods and procedures of large-scale kitchen work.
- Knowledge of and ability to use kitchen and general cleaning materials and equipment.
- Ability to respectfully work with any client and/or coworker, regardless of race, gender identification, sexual orientation, disease process, lifestyle, religious or cultural beliefs, or treatment.
- Ability to work effectively as a team player.
- Ability to take direction from direct supervisor and upper management to meet the needs of the individual, including age related requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities - Food Service Activities:
- Maintain adequate supplies of dishes, cups, flatware, and napkins on the serving line
- Set up and refills condiments, dispensers, and food pans
- Portion food items
- Check supplies or food products delivered by supplier to be sure they meet the type, quantity, and quality
Duties and Responsibilities - Food Preparation:
- Prepare simple foods according to standardized menus, recipes, or verbal instructions given by Kitchen Manager
- Make salads, dressings, gelatin, toast, or sandwiches
- Bake frozen cookie dough and pizzas; cleans, cuts, and chops vegetables and fruits
- Slice meats, cheeses, and breads
- Cut desserts; adjusts recipe quantities to eliminate excessive waste of food products
- Fill drink machines, mixing beverages, making coffee, specialty coffee drinks, and preparing box lunches or snacks
- Use various types of commercial kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, mixers, slicers, and choppers
- Prepare simple desserts; presents and observes food to be sure it is visually appealing
Duties and Responsibilities - Cleaning activities:
- Keep kitchen sanitary and clear of food debris
- Facilitate cleaning to clients who are in the kitchen
- Facilitate double scrub
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
