Instructional Assistant (Waldorf Kindergarten Classroom) using NDBI

Position Overview

The Instructional Assistant at Early Days Autism Center (EDAC) supports the implementation of a developmentally appropriate, relationship-based kindergarten program for young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Working within a Waldorf Kindergarten classroom, this role integrates naturalistic developmental behavioral interventions (NDBI), including the Group Early Start Denver Model (G-ESDM), to promote social communication, engagement, and learning.

The Instructional Assistant collaborates closely with the BCBA and the Lead Teacher to support the child’s participation in daily rhythms, peer interactions, and meaningful learning experiences through play, imitation, and shared activity.We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under the supervision of the BCBA, deliver both individualized and group-based behavioral interventions that support each child’s social, behavioral, and academic development.
  • Collaborate with classroom team to develop and implement tailored intervention plans, ensuring the use of evidence-based practices that address each child’s unique needs.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze data on child’s progress to evaluate and adapt interventions, ensuring continuous development.
  • Foster child’s independence by supporting self-help skills and behavior management, encouraging positive interactions and growth.
  • Create and maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment that promotes each child’s full potential.

Qualifications:

  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities, with a high level of patience, creativity, flexibility, and a commitment to professional growth.
  • Education: Preferred completion of at least two years of college coursework in a human services field or equivalent. A bachelor’s degree in psychology, early childhood education, special education, or a related field is highly valued.
  • Certifications: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification preferred, or equivalent experience in ABA-based early intervention.
  • Experience: Prior experience working with young children with autism or other developmental needs is essential.

Additional Requirements:

  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass a Department of Justice fingerprint screening.
  • Proof of a negative TB test and immunization records (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella); Hepatitis B and Pertussis immunizations are recommended.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
