Job Description
The Instructional Designer shall supportthe design, development, and quality assurance of digital learning experiencesfor a large-scale, technology-enabled education platform serving high-schoolstudents (Grades 9-12). The role focuses on creating engaging, pedagogicallysound, and scalable learning content across multiple career pathways.
Key Responsibilities
1. Instructional Design & ContentDevelopment
- Design and develop digital courses, lessons, simulations, andproject-based learning experiences
- Translate curriculum frameworks, learning outcomes, and pathwayblueprints into structured course designs
- Create course outlines, storyboards, learning activities, andinstructional materials
- Ensure alignment with learning science principles, grade-levelexpectations, and learner needs
2. Assessment Design
- Design and support diagnostic, formative, and summativeassessments
- Develop rubrics, feedback mechanisms, and evaluation criteria
- Ensure assessments measure intended learning outcomes andsupport student progression
3. Content Review & QualityAssurance
- Review, organize, and quality-assure content developed byinternal teams and external vendors
- Ensure accuracy, clarity, consistency, accessibility, andinstructional quality
- Identify gaps or improvements and support content revisionsbased on feedback
4. LMS & Platform Implementation
- Support the implementation of learning content within theLearning Management System (LMS)
- Collaborate with platform, UX, and product teams to optimizecontent structure and learner experience
- Test and validate course functionality, navigation, and learnerflow
5. Collaboration & StakeholderEngagement
- Work closely with curriculum leads, subject matter experts,content vendors, AI teams, and platform teams
- Provide instructional guidance to ensure pedagogicalconsistency across courses and pathways
- Participate in review meetings, planning sessions, andimprovement initiatives
- Support ongoing updates and enhancements based on learner data,feedback, and program needs
- Maintain instructional design documentation, templates, andstandards
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of instructionalprocesses and quality benchmarks
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- 5-8+ years ofexperience in instructional design or learning experience design
- Strongportfolio of digital courses and/or simulations
- Experience withinstructional design models
- Provenexperience working with content vendors or agencies
- Strongassessment and learning outcomes design skills
- Familiaritywith LMS platforms and SCORM/xAPI standards
Preferred Skills
- Experience inK-12, higher education, or career readiness programs
- Experiencedesigning scenario-based or simulation learning
- Familiaritywith tools such as Articulate, Rise, Captivate, Genially, or H5P
- Experienceworking in the UAE or regional education context
