Instrument Fitter/Orbital Welder/Fabricator

NOTE: APPLICANTS MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES FOR WORK AND/OR RELOCATE TO WISCONSIN FOR PERMANENT POSITIONS.

Infinity High Purity Systems is seeking an experienced Orbital Welder/Fabricator to relocate to Wisconsin.

In this position you will be required to perform the following functions both on-site in the field and in the shop on premises:

• Must be familiar with high purity and ultra high purity tubing and fabrication procedures.
• Must be able to accurately bend 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" stainless steel tubing utilizing manual tube benders.
• Must be able to accurately develop tubing layouts develop tubing bend plans based on installation/project requirements.
• Be able to accurately cut and face stainless steel tubing.
• Be able to properly install and clamp tubing and multiple tubing assemblies.
• Be able to install unistrut and all associated hardware.
• Be able to safely operate handheld power tools.
• Be able to accurately read a tape measure.

Responsibilities:

• Have the ability to layout, bend, and install tubing assemblies (including installing premanufactured fittings)
• Be able to communicate bending and installation layouts out to other personnel.
• Cut and prepare tubing and fittings to be welded.
• Perform cosmetic finishing on welded assemblies to meet customer requirements.
• Work from blue prints and approved drawings (when required).
• Must be able to operate orbital welding equipment.
• Maintain clean work area.
• Maintain a file of all work records.
• Documents methods and layouts for efficient setups for repeat projects.
• Participates in the safety program and contributes to a safe clean work environment.
• Performs job site setup and tear down, including loading and unloading job trailer.
• Assists less skilled shop personnel with determining best methods to achieve desired results in a safe and timely manner.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50-75 lbs. unassisted.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time, up to 6 hour periods a day.
• Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, kneel, and maneuver in tight spaces for extended periods.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Must be willing to travel.

Must be able to operate and maneuver 1-ton truck and trailer as needed.

OSHA 30 training is highly preferred. (Or willingness to complete OSHA 30 training.)

ASME Section 9 welding certification is highly preferred, but not required.

Experience in clean room environments preferred.

Experience in GTAW Tig welding preferred.

COMPENSATION IS BASED ON EXPERIENCE AND RANGES FROM $25-45/hr.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to read and comprehend shop travelers written instructions and shop prints at the appropriate level.
• Ability to communicate and follow verbal directions in English.
• Ability to recognize and calculate figures and amounts such as fractional size, decimal equivalent, and diameter.
• Ability to perform the required manual dexterity.
• Ability to perform required visual inspection of parts.
• Ability to perform computer data input to track attendance and time spent on work orders.
