INSTRUMENT TECHNICIAN

ROLE SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled Instrument Technician to maintain and calibrate instrumentation systems at the power plant. The candidate will perform hands-on calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of control and measurement devices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Calibrate and maintain sensors, transmitters, controllers, flow meters, and pressure gauges.
  • Troubleshoot faults in control loops, instrumentation systems, and process measurement devices.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on field instruments and control panels.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new instruments and control systems.
  • Maintain calibration records, work orders, and instrument data sheets accurately.
  • Follow LOTO and safety procedures when working on energized instrumentation systems.
  • Report any deviations or instrument failures to the Instrument Engineer promptly.
  • Guide and supervise Instrument Helpers during maintenance tasks.
  • Support plant operations team with instrumentation-related queries and troubleshooting.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

✓ Diploma or Trade Certificate in Instrumentation, Control Engineering, or equivalent.

✓ Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in instrumentation in a power plant or industrial setting.

✓ Experience with calibration of pressure, temperature, flow, and level instruments.

✓ Ability to read P&IDs, instrumentation loop diagrams, and calibration procedures.

✓ Knowledge of DCS, PLC, or SCADA systems is an advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RO400.000 - RO500.000 per month
