Instrumentation & Control Engineer (Junior – Mid level)

$105-140k per annum + Full Benefits

Houston, TX | Hybrid 3 days a week onsite.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an employee-owned construction and engineering firm working as an I&E / Automation Engineer under experienced engineers, supporting multiple exciting capital and maintenance projects across petrochemical facilities sites in the Houston area.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year working experience with 3D and 4D CAD drafting tools and be comfortable working under supervision, open to mentoring, and eager to gain experience across design, construction, and commissioning activities in petrochemical facilities.

THE ROLE:

• Support the design and specification of instrumentation, control, and electrical systems for petrochemical facility projects, including upgrades and expansions.

• Create basic instrumentation and controls designs using 3D and 4D CAD drafting tools, and review component-level shop drawings.

• Develop and support basic PLC logic, HMI screens, reports, and automation documentation under supervision.

• Assist with testing, commissioning, and startup of instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems, working closely with project, operations, and construction teams.

THE PERSON:

• Degree-qualified in Instrumentation, Electrical, Automation, or related Engineering discipline.

• Foundational knowledge of instrumentation, control systems, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial electrical systems.

• Moderate experience with 3D and 4D CAD drafting tools and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

• Good communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn in a regulated, safety-critical environment.
