Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Instrumentation Engineer in Industrial Refrigeration industry role based in the Riyadh Region. The individual will oversee the design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation systems for industrial refrigeration applications. The role involves calibrating instruments, optimizing process controls, supporting electrical engineering tasks, and ensuring safe and efficient operations of refrigeration systems.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Process Control and the design and optimization of control systems
• System Design & Integration: Design and implement comprehensive instrumentation and control strategies for ammonia and freon-based industrial refrigeration systems.
• End-to-End Programming: Lead the development of automation software, including the creation of original PLC code, HMI screens, and WinCC SCADA systems.
• Hardware Specification: Select, calibrate, and maintain field instruments such as pressure transmitters, temperature sensors (RTDs/Thermocouples), flow meters, and electronic expansion valves.
• Commissioning: Oversee on-site commissioning, loop testing, and troubleshooting of control panels and field instrumentation within the Riyadh region.
• Technical Documentation: Develop P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), wiring schematics, IO lists, and functional design specifications (FDS).

Required Technical Qualifications

• Siemens TIA Portal Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Siemens TIA Portal (Version V16 or higher preferred).
• Autonomous Programming: Proven ability to develop logic and code independently. We are looking for a candidate who has personally programmed entire systems rather than just modifying existing templates.
• Full Stack Automation: * Expertise in Siemens S7-1200/1500 PLC programming (LAD, FBD, SCL).
• Design and configuration of HMI (Comfort/Basic panels).
• Advanced configuration of WinCC SCADA for data logging, alarming, and remote monitoring.
• Industrial Refrigeration Knowledge: Deep understanding of refrigeration cycles, compressor rack controls, condenser sequencing, and evaporator management.

Experience & Education

• Years of Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in instrumentation and control systems, specifically within the industrial refrigeration or heavy industrial sector.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Regional Knowledge: Familiarity with local Saudi Arabian engineering standards and the environmental challenges of operating refrigeration systems in high-ambient temperature climates like Riyadh.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) integration via Profinet/Profibus.
• Knowledge of safety protocols specific to Ammonia (NH3) systems.
• Strong communication skills for coordinating with project managers and site technicians.
