Instrumentation Specialist III

POSITION PURPOSE:

In office position. The Automation, Instrumentation Specialist will provide support and direction for the Instrumentation Engineering aspect of ICM projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

• Provide day-to-day operation to the ICM Instrumentation Engineering Team.
• Work with ICM clients, contractors, and internal customers to produce the Automation and Instrumentation documents and drawings. Monitor and ensure that efforts are consistent with ICM goals and objectives.
• Provide engineering support to ICM clients, contractors and field personnel on all aspects of the Automation and Instrumentation documentation.
• Assist field personnel with technical issues when they arise.
• Lead and support the development of specifications inclusive of instrumentation equipment and the detail control designs of ICM projects.
• Develop instrument take-off based on project P&ID’s.
• Prepare instrument data sheets and loop diagrams.
• Optimize instrument systems ensuring minimal cost and compliance with the required performance.
• Support use of Socketworx and PROCORE systems.
• Solicit and review vendor quotes based upon instrumentation specifications for all projects.
• Prepare proposals and compile budgets for ICM Instrumentation projects.
• Work with vendors and other ICM departments to procure materials and equipment.
• Provide for long-term development of the Instrumentation Engineering Team and its personnel.

Education/Certification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred
• ISA CCST Certification is an advantage

Required Knowledge & Experience:

• 5+ years Instrumentation experience required
• Industrial plant experience preferred

Skills/Abilities:

• Possess excellent computer skills utilizing MS Office products
• Possessing working knowledge of AUTOCAD is an advantage
• Knowledge and experience in the Ethanol industry is an advantage
• Possess a working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC)
• Strong technical and science math skills
• Demonstrates attention to detail
• Possess fluent verbal and written skills in the English language

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:

Must possess current, valid driver’s license with no restrictions. Position may require up to 15% travel. Ability to sit for long periods of time. Able to view computer screen for lengths at a time. Must be able to speak and listen clearly. Fine visual acuity to read for accuracy. May be exposed to loud noises, wet and humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic chemicals, extreme hot and cold depending on weather conditions. May be required to work in high, precarious places and be at risk for electrical shock.
