Instrumentation Supervisor

Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Instrumentation Supervisor to join our team for ADNOC Oil & Gas projects in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising the installation, testing, and commissioning of instrumentation systems, ensuring adherence to project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Instrumentation & Control Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in Oil & Gas construction projects.
  • Strong experience in the construction and installation of a wide range of instrumentation equipment.
  • Proven skills in planning, execution, and supervision of instrumentation works.
  • Previous exposure to the oil, gas, or petrochemical industry is essential.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Job Responsibilities:

1. To lead the Instrumentation technician’s team and ensure timely, quality, and safe installation, construction, calibration, installation, loop checking, and commissioning based on construction requirement at site. Fully aware of using HART configurator for transmitters and control valves’ configuration, calibration and loop checking. The type of instruments includes transmitters, control valves, analyzers, on/off valves, switches, temperature elements, control system components etc

2. Participates with the team in planning periodic preventive/predictive/pro-active construction on a long-term basis. Also does short-term planning by reviewing the incoming daily work orders from plant for construction and defect work.

3. Discusses the construction schedule and the daily plan with the production teams to ensure optimum use of resources such as time, material, and manpower

4. Allocates work to subordinates, checks progress, and guides them to ensure all necessary checks on wide variety of electrical, electronic, pneumatic microprocessor-based control & monitoring instruments, process analyzers, laboratory analytical equipment, control system equipment, power & marshaling panel activities

5. To supervise the power cable laying, dressing, glanding, testing & termination for the instruments. Also includes cable tray work, the installation of marshaling components and marshaling & power distribution panel internal wiring. The activity shall be done at site, control room and in marshaling rooms (Satellite Instrument Shelters – SIS

6. Inspects completed jobs for conformity to statutory and COMPANY standards and regulations

7. Monitors and inspects work of construction CONTRACTORs carrying out assigned projects in the plant to ensure compliance with specified terms and parameters.

8. Raises store issue documents and assists in the receipt of materials and spare parts, helping to check the quality and quantity of supply.

9. Maintains records of work performed and work in progress in the computerized system, other related data etc. and processes paperwork related to Instrumentation jobs

10. Determines training needs for team members and trainees, and ensures adequate training on-the-job to them for skill development

11. Ensures observation of HSE regulations and guidelines by team under supervision and promotes the use of safe work practices
