Insulation Installer (Experienced with Batt/Blown In & Able to Learn Foam)

Job Summary

At Koala Insulation of Greater Ann Arbor, we are looking for a motivated, skilled individual who is eager to develop and apply their skills to make a positive impact on our communities. This position within the company is expected to perform high-quality insulation services in attics and crawlspaces consistently. In addition, this role is responsible for identifying and correcting spray foam issues and coaching more junior installers. This position will also conduct insulation service evaluations with propects.

Duties/Responsibilities

1. Safety: Adheres to job site safety in accordance with all federal, state, and local occupational, health, and safety laws. Ensures that the rig is safely driven to job site locations.

2. Operations: Removes and installs insulation based on the specifications of each job. Follows standard operation procedures with equipment set up and operation. Completes a high-quality job while maintaining efficiency. Has working knowledge of all types of insulation installation (blown-in, spray foam, and battles) and consistently perform quality checks.

3. Technical: Diagnoses and resolves issues in the field alongside Crew Leader.

4. Customer Service: Communicates professionally with customers. Maintains a professional image and thoroughly cleans the job site upon completion of the job.

Conduct insulation services on-site evaluations for prospects and potential customers.5.

Other: Continuous improvement of customer service, quality, efficiency, and safety. Provides instruction and training to junior team members. Communicate any issues to the Crew Leader. Performs other related duties as required.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Solid quantitative skills in calculating material estimates for jobs.
• Excellent time management.
• Ability to troubleshoot, operate, and maintain equipment.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience:

• 480 hours (12 weeks) of hands-on experience with installing batt and/or blown-in insulation in the field required
• High school diploma/GED required
• Prior home service, manufacturing, landscaping, or related fields is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of walking, standing, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and crawling.
• Working environment may be subject to high temperatures, confined spaces, dust/dirt, hazardous chemicals, and heights.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds frequently.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
