Job Description
At AMP Restoration & Roofing the Supplemental Estimator is a vital position pivotal to the success of the company. Our Estimators work with Insurance Carriers to come to an agreement on the scope of repairs for each given claim as well as the cost of those repairs. By creating supplemental estimates, the estimator ensures the homeowner is fully compensated by the insurance carrier. You will build relationships with insurance professionals and learn the workings of each carrier to better serve our customers. You will be responsible for creating estimates, completing negotiations with the carriers, and billing as required for each claim you work. Roughly 90% of Amp's business consists of insurance claims. This is an in-house position for an established construction company. The position does not require a licensed adjuster, but requires many of the skills of a first or second year associate.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure that every job linked to an insurance claim is properly supplemented.
- Identify possible gaps in coverage that need to be addressed by a supplement.
- Communicate with production staff about unforeseen complications, inform insurance companies immediately.
- Consult with insurance companies to ensure the customer's job is adequately covered.
- Ensure that insurance payments are adequate to cover all repairs necessary and standard under local building codes.
- Maintain an open channel of communication with insurance companies at all times.
- Work with sales staff to ensure the collection of necessary documentation (photos, etc.) to support supplemental claims.
- Enter claims for all jobs that include an insurance claim and/or supplement.
- Assist sales staff in entering claims in customer management software (JobNimbus).[NOTE: Supplement work is prioritized].
- Enter claim details in JobNimbus for production approval
- Ensure that insurance jobs are properly invoiced and follow up to ensure payment.
- Participate in networking and training activities as required by Sales Manager and Owner/GM
- Participate in marketing and public relations activities as needed (including staff pictures, videos, etc.)
- Attend staff meetings as required by Owner/GM
- Position may require out-of-town travel for training, etc.
- Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Preferred
- Knowledge of construction
- Familiarity with the claims process
- Use of estimating software (Xactimate etc.)
- Strong attention to detail
- Use of Windows and Microsoft programs
Education, Qualifications, Requirements
- Associates Degree
- Driver’s License

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. Pay: $84,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
