Insurance Vehicle Damage Appraiser - Rockford, Freeport, Galena, East Dubuque IL

We are currently recruiting a high-quality individual to join our team in the Northwestern Illinois area for the position of Insurance Vehicle Damage Appraiser. The successful candidate should have body shop or insurance company experience writing estimates. Experience with specialty equipment such as trucks, boats, agricultural equipment a plus.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Driving to loss locations is required; must hold valid driver's license and have clean driving record
• Ability to occasionally work during non-standard business hours
• Travel required when necessary
• Strong organizational and clear communication skills
• Ability to manage your own workload and schedule
• Ability to inspect in field and write estimates from home or Rockford, IL office
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel or crawl, climb a ladder

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accurately assess physical damage to vehicles and promptly produce written report
• Use of software programs such as CCC, JD Power, FileTrac and MS office suite required
• Provide effective customer service and work with internal staff and external customers and clients
• Analyze and process claim information
• Verify, identify, evaluate and determine damage or negligence
• Recommend resolution options with supported explanations
• Complete all necessary and requested claim work in a logical, factual, non-biased, clear and concise format within established guidelines

SALARY RANGE

• $60,000 to $80,000 base with potential to earn much more in commission, depending on experience and skill level. This is a commission-based role, not a set salary.
