Insurance Billing Specialist (Orthodontics)

Straight Set Orthodontics is a premier provider of orthodontic services in the New York Metropolitan Area. We always seek to "Go The Extra Smile" for our patients, and we are seeking a skilled Insurance Billing Specialist to join our growing regional team!

Role Overview: This is a specialized, back-office position based in our central office. You will not be responsible for direct patient collections or front-desk duties. Instead, you will act as a technical expert and internal liaison, focusing on the "behind-the-scenes" integrity of our insurance lifecycle. You will resolve complex payer denials, maintain healthy accounts receivable, and act as a primary resource for our office teams to ensure our billing workflows remain standardized and efficient.

Key Responsibilities:

• Claim Lifecycle Management: Monitor automated claim submissions and ensure accurate payment posting from all major payers (Medicaid/PPO).
• Investigative A/R Resolution: Proactively research, appeal, and resolve outstanding insurance balances and "stuck" claims in the aging report.
• Internal Office Liaison: Provide timely support to clinical office teams via internal chat (MS Teams) regarding account setup and coordination of benefits.
• Partner Coordination: Collaborate with external billing vendors to ensure payer-specific requirements (such as clinical documentation and photo attachments) are being met.
• Data Integrity: Audit patient ledgers and account configurations to ensure they meet documentation standards.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of healthcare insurance billing experience (Dental/Ortho preferred).
• Strong understanding of EOBs, claim rejection codes, and NYS insurance regulations.
• Proven ability to manage insurance aging reports independently.

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
