Position Overview
Linchpin is seeking an experienced Insurance Bookkeeper to join our growing Accounting Services team.
This is not a traditional bookkeeping position. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working within a property & casualty insurance agency and understand the unique accounting requirements associated with insurance operations, including trust accounting, direct bill reconciliation, producer payables, and agency management systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Record and maintain accurate financial transactions within agency management systems and accounting platforms
- Reconcile direct bill statements and carrier payables
- Process and reconcile producer commission statements and payables
- Manage trust account activity, payments, and transfers
- Perform bank and account reconciliations
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Assist with month-end closing activities
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation
- Collaborate with internal team members and agency clients to resolve accounting discrepancies
- Support accounting cleanup, process improvement, and special projects as needed
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of property & casualty insurance agency accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Experience working in an insurance agency management system
- Strong understanding of insurance accounting principles, including trust accounting and direct bill processing
- Experience preparing and posting journal entries
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks and related financial systems
- Experience with Applied Epic, AMS360, or similar agency management platforms
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field
- Experience supporting multiple insurance agencies or locations
- Advanced Excel skills
