Insurance Coordinator / Front Desk Team Member
Dental Practice | 37-40 hours/week
$24–$28 per hour (based on experience)
Our dental practice is looking for a detail-oriented, organized, and friendly Insurance Coordinator to join our team! If you enjoy both the administrative and patient-facing sides of dentistry, we’d love to meet you.
Position Overview
The Insurance Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely insurance processing while supporting front desk operations. This position will be cross-trained in all front office responsibilities to provide seamless patient service and team support.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional front desk service and guiding them through check-in procedures
- Verify patient insurance coverage, complete breakdowns and update medical records accurately
- Submit insurance claims in timely manner, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete for claims submission
- Manage appointment scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations efficiently to optimize clinic flow
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality at all times
- Coordinate with insurance companies for claim follow-ups, denials, and appeals as needed
- Answer incoming calls professionally and efficiently
- Cross-train in all front office responsibilities
- Participate in ongoing training an continuing education courses
- Additional responsibilities as delegated
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dental office or medical office setting is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of dental insurance verification, billing procedures and claim processes
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with attention to detail in handling documentation and insurance claims
- Ability to multitask and work in a team environment
- Eaglesoft and Vyne software experience is a plus
