Insurance Editor/Proofreader(Remote)

Agency One Insurance has been a full-service agency since its establishment in 1980. We currently cater to the insurance needs of more than 4,000 individuals, families, and over 400 businesses in Moore County and the surrounding areas.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Insurance Editor/Proofreader to join our dynamic team remotely. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and consistency of insurance-related content across various platforms. Your keen eye for detail and strong command of language will help maintain the highest standards of quality in all published materials. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of clear, engaging, and precise insurance communications that inform and educate our audience effectively.

Responsibilities

• Proofread and copy edit insurance documents, articles, proposals, and marketing materials to ensure grammatical accuracy, style consistency, and factual correctness
• Apply AP style guidelines meticulously while adhering to industry-specific terminology and standards such as the Chicago Manual of Style
• Conduct thorough fact-checking and research to verify information accuracy within insurance content
• Edit content for clarity, tone, and readability, ensuring alignment with project goals and target audiences
• Collaborate with writers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to refine content and implement editorial feedback
• Maintain organized records of editing revisions and version control for all documents
• Support technical writing efforts by translating complex insurance concepts into accessible language for diverse audiences

Requirements

• Proven experience in proofreading, copy editing, or editing within the insurance industry or related fields
• Strong command of writing skills with an emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail
• Familiarity with AP style, Chicago Manual of Style, and technical writing standards
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders
• Ability to conduct research efficiently and verify factual information accurately
• Proficiency in word processing tools and editing software; experience with content management systems is a plus
• Knowledge of insurance terminology, policies, regulations, and industry trends is highly desirable
• Creative writing skills are a bonus for developing engaging content that resonates with readers
