JOB SUMMARY
The Wisconsin Marketing Representative is a highly visible, relationship-driven role responsible for growing and supporting a portfolio of independent insurance agencies across Wisconsin. This role partners closely with agents to develop actionable agency plans, achieve territory goals, improve retention, and create long-term, mutually profitable relationships.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with agency partners to build sales plans that result in agency growth and the achievement of sales goals
- Develop and execute structured territory plans aligned with company production, growth, and profitability objectives
- Help agents understand how underwriting discipline, risk selection, and account rounding impact profitability
- Service and grow relationships with existing independent agencies within the assigned Wisconsin territory
- Act as the primary point of contact for agents, ensuring consistent communication and support
- Identify agencies that are underserved or at risk and proactively re-engage them
- Promote Madison Mutual Insurance products, value proposition, and underwriting philosophy
- Work collaboratively with agents to establish annual and quarterly production goals
- Create joint sales and marketing plans with agents to increase written premium and policy count
- Recruit, appoint, and onboard new independent agents aligned with company strategy
- Perform agency installations and deliver comprehensive new agency training
- Provide underwriting systems, product, and process training to agency personnel
- Work collaboratively with Underwriting to ensure compliance with company guidelines and procedures
- Serve as a trusted resource to agents on tools, systems, and best practices
- Maintain working knowledge of insurance software and tools used in the marketplace, such as comparative rater systems including EZLynx and Vertafore
- Monitor competitive activity and local market conditions; provide regular feedback to management
- Identify opportunities for product, pricing, system, or process enhancements
- Recommend and participate in special programs, initiatives, and agency events
- Plan and manage time effectively to maximize territory impact
- Maintain accurate reporting and documentation of agency activity and opportunities
- Travel overnight within the territory as business needs require
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in insurance sales, marketing, or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage time, priorities, and objectives independently
- Desire to win and hit goals
- General computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Professional presence, strong relationship skills, and a consultative mindset
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the territory
- Experience working with independent insurance agencies
- Field marketing or territory-based sales experience
- Knowledge of property & casualty insurance products
- Familiarity with the Wisconsin insurance market
- A relationship-first approach to selling and servicing agencies
- Persistence, follow-through, and the ability to handle objections
- Ability to achieve and succeed against goals regardless of obstacles
- Comfort calling on agencies of all sizes
- Strong collaboration with underwriting and internal partners
- A data-aware, territory-minded approach to decision-making
- Low ego and a team-oriented mindset
- Field-based role with regular travel throughout the assigned Wisconsin territory
- Overnight travel required as business needs dictate
