Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Insurance/Patient Financial Specialist, where your expertise will empower patients to navigate their insurance benefits and financial responsibilities with confidence. In this vital role, you will serve as a compassionate guide, ensuring accurate billing, efficient claims processing, and clear communication regarding patient accounts. Your proactive approach will help optimize revenue cycles while delivering exceptional service that makes a real difference in patients’ healthcare journeys.

Responsibilities

  • Review and verify patient insurance information to ensure accurate billing and claims submission
  • Assist patients in understanding their insurance coverage, co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses. Present patients with Good Faith Estimates. Explain the different payment options in our office.
  • Resolve billing discrepancies by coordinating with insurance companies and internal departments
  • Educate patients about payment options, financial assistance programs, and payment plans
  • Maintain detailed records of all patient interactions, billing activities, and claim statuses
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure proper documentation supports accurate billing processes

Requirements

  • Proven experience in medical billing, insurance verification, or patient financial services within a healthcare setting
  • Strong knowledge of health insurance plans, coding procedures, and claims processing systems
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly and empathetically
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple accounts efficiently
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and external insurance providers
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software is preferred
  • A proactive attitude with problem-solving skills to address billing issues swiftly and effectively

Pay: $33,280.00 - $37,440.00 per year
