Insurance Producer – Commercial & Personal Lines – Performance-Based Role with Optional Ramp Support

Who This Is For

This is performance-based work. No cap on what you can earn — and we'll back your ramp with an optional financial bridge so the leap to commission-only doesn't have to mean months of zero income.

Williams Insurance Advisors is a remote-first, tech-forward independent agency with strong carrier relationships across both commercial and personal lines. We're looking for driven producers — whether your strength is commercial accounts, personal lines households, or both — who want to build a book, keep the lion's share of what they generate, and grow real long-term wealth through an escalating renewal stream.

If you'd rather earn what you're worth than collect a paycheck, keep reading.

What Makes This Different

Most producers spend 15+ hours a week on service work — certificates, endorsements, billing calls, policy changes. That's 15 hours a week you're not selling.

At Williams Insurance Advisors, once you close the deal, our CSR and account management team handles everything that comes after. Renewals, billing, coverage changes, evidence of insurance — all handled. You stay focused on the next win. Period.

Two Paths. One Agency. Your Choice.

We're hiring producers across both lines of business. You can focus on one or pursue both — we'll support your growth either way.

Commercial Lines

Williams Insurance Advisors has carrier relationships across a wide range of commercial industries. You are not limited to a single niche — if you have relationships or expertise in a market we have an appetite for, we want to hear about it.

Our current areas of focus and strongest carrier access include:

  • Construction Trades
  • Manufacturing
  • Restaurants & Hospitality
  • Local Trucking

One hard boundary: We do not write Excess & Surplus lines business. Our focus is standard admitted market commercial accounts. If your background is primarily E&S, this is not the right fit.

Personal Lines

Our personal lines focus is high-value households and multi-policy accounts — not high-volume, low-premium churn. Primary focus areas include:

  • High-Value Homeowners
  • Multi-Policy Households
  • Personal Umbrella & Excess Liability
  • Private Client Portfolios

If you have established referral relationships or expertise in a personal lines niche we haven't listed, we want to hear about it.

Want to do both? Motivated personal lines producers are welcome to train into and sell commercial lines, and vice versa. If you want to expand your book across both spaces over time, we'll support that growth.

The Earnings Picture

This is a commission-only role with no cap on what you can earn. Producers who consistently develop their pipeline and close business can realistically build into six-figure annual income within a few years — and it keeps growing from there.

The key is our escalating renewal commission structure. Every policy you write pays you again at renewal, and your renewal rate increases each year you're with us. That means the book you build today becomes a compounding income stream that pays you whether you write new business that month or not. The right producer doesn't just earn well here — they build long-term wealth.

Compensation StructureNew Business Commission

Commercial Lines:

  • 60% on new business revenue up to $500,000 in annual written premium
  • 65% on new business revenue above $500,000 in annual written premium

Personal Lines:

  • 60% on new business revenue up to $250,000 in annual written premium
  • 65% on new business revenue above $250,000 in annual written premium

Renewal Commission — Escalating Vesting Schedule

Your renewal rate increases automatically each year you are with us:

  • Year 1 — 30%
  • Year 2 — 32%
  • Year 3 — 34%
  • Year 4 — 36%
  • Year 5+ — 38%

Performance Bonus — Rewards Book Quality

Producers whose renewal book exceeds $500,000 in written premium and meets both thresholds below earn an additional 2% on renewal commissions for that year, up to a maximum renewal rate of 40%:

  • Retention rate of 93% or higher
  • Loss ratio below 60%

Example: A year five producer at 38% base renewal rate who qualifies earns 40% that year — the maximum renewal rate available at Williams Insurance Advisors.

Carrier Contingency Bonus — Profit Sharing

Williams Insurance Advisors participates in carrier contingency bonus programs that reward agencies for book quality, retention, and growth. When the agency qualifies for a carrier contingency bonus, producers receive a proportional share based on two factors:

  • Your percentage contribution to the qualifying carrier book
  • Your current vested renewal commission rate applied to that share

Example: Carrier pays a $15,000 contingency bonus. You wrote 60% of the qualifying book and are in year three at a 34% renewal rate. $15,000 × 60% × 34% = $3,060 bonus to you.

These bonuses are carrier-dependent, performance-based, and not guaranteed annually. When they happen, you share in them.

Structure

  • 1099 Independent Contractor
  • Work from anywhere
  • No employee benefits (health, retirement, PTO)
  • Optional ramp draw available — see below

Optional Ramp Support

Making the move to a 1099 producer role is a real leap — especially if you're transitioning out of a salaried position. To bridge the ramp, Williams Insurance Advisors offers an optional six-month draw:

  • Months 1–3: $1,500/month
  • Months 4–6: $1,000/month
  • Total available: $7,500

The draw is recoverable. Your earned commissions pay it down as your book builds — and once the balance is paid off, you're back to keeping 100% of every commission dollar earned. Most producers earn out of the draw within their first eight to nine months.

The draw is elective. Experienced producers with established networks often decline it. New producers transitioning from a salaried role almost always elect it. The choice is yours, and it doesn't change anything else about your compensation.

The Tech Stack

This is a modern, paperless operation. Comfort with technology and the ability to work across multiple platforms simultaneously is essential for this role.

  • EZLynx — management system, rater, and sales pipeline
  • VOIP Phone System — integrated voice and mobile texting
  • Google Workspace — communication and documentation
  • Insurance Agency App — branded client portal
  • dlwinshub.com Knowledge Hub — agency tools and resources

How You'll Build Your Book — Referral-Driven, Not Cold-Call-Driven

This is not a cold-call shop. We don't run dialer scripts. We don't expect you to sit at a desk burning through call lists. What we expect is real-world relationship building — the kind that creates clients who refer their friends, and partners who send you steady business.

Commercial accounts get won by walking a job site with a contractor, sitting across from a business owner over coffee, and earning the relationship. Personal lines success comes from building referral partnerships with mortgage brokers, real estate agents, financial advisors, and your personal network. Remote-first doesn't mean invisible.

To make those conversations easier, the agency funds several programs designed specifically to open doors and reward referrals:

Community Referral Program — Every time someone refers a friend to Williams Insurance Advisors for a comparison, we donate $15 to a local charity on their behalf. People refer more when it feels good to do so.

Additional Agency-Funded Outreach Tools — A growing toolkit of cause marketing and concierge programs designed to give your referral partners and prospects a reason to engage that goes beyond the transaction.

These aren't gimmicks. They're conversion tools that open the kind of doors that drive long-term growth.

What We're Looking For

  • Active Tennessee P&C license required
  • Proven track record in a sales-heavy role — insurance experience is a plus, not a requirement
  • Self-directed and comfortable working in a commission-only structure
  • Tech-savvy and process-oriented
  • Existing client relationships or referral networks are a significant advantage

Training, Mentorship & Resources

You're not figuring this out alone. New producers — especially those without prior insurance experience — get access to an extensive and continually expanding producer resource library:

  • Sales Training Module Library — A structured curriculum covering the WIA way, building your referral pipeline, prospect conversations, discovery and fact-finding, closing the business, language to use (and language to avoid), and core sales skills. Continually updated as the agency grows.
  • Industry-Specific Sales Playbooks — Vertical playbooks across construction, manufacturing, restaurants and hospitality, trucking, healthcare, technology, legal, financial services, agriculture, retail, non-profit, and more — with WIA-proprietary commercial and personal lines playbooks rolling out alongside them.
  • Carrier Guides and Underwriting Guides — Housed on the dlwinshub.com Knowledge Hub for fast lookup when you're sizing up appetite or structuring a quote.
  • First Quotes Mentorship — For producers new to the role, we'll walk through your early quotes by video chat — appetite, structure, presentation. Producers anywhere in the state get the same support.
  • dlwinshub.com Knowledge Hub — Centralized agency tools, training materials, carrier resources, and reference docs.
  • Direct Access to Agency Leadership — Open-line mentorship for complex deal structuring, carrier strategy, and market guidance. Available as needed.

We've built the framework. You bring the drive.
