About The Role
The
Insurance Verification Lead
plays a key role in supporting patient billing by ensuring Personal Injury (PI) cases are accurate, complete, and compliant. This position helps maintain clean billing processes, resolves discrepancies, and works collaboratively across departments to support timely reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities

Data Management: Collect, organize, and reconcile missing or incomplete patient information

Insurance Verification: Confirm insurance coverage and patient classification for accurate billing

Provider Coordination: Verify referring physician information and obtain required documentation and non-PI authorizations

PI Case Oversight: Review liability and coverage details for Personal Injury cases in alignment with industry standards

Case Reconciliation: Manage formal case closures when treatment is complete or no longer required

Customer Communication: Respond to inquiries, resolve issues, and de-escalate concerns professionally

Administrative Support: Assist with special projects and additional tasks as assigned by leadership
What We're Looking For

Working knowledge of medical billing and CPT codes (PPO, HMO, MC)

Experience running eligibility, insurance verification, and obtaining/submitting authorizations

Familiarity with Workers' Compensation (CWC, AWC) and Personal Injury (PI, PI Med Pay)

Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, associate degree, specialized training, or equivalent

At least 2 years of insurance and/or physician office customer service experience

Minimum of 1 year in a medical clerical role

Bilingual in English and Spanish

Strong attention to detail and ability to stay focused in a fast-paced environment

Excellent communication skills, strong grammar

Proficiency in MS Office - Word & Excel
