Insurance Verification Specialist

Job Purpose: In this role, you complete authorizations and referrals for our medical services. In addition, you verify information provided by their referring physicians and verify their insurance coverage. You also monitor the schedule for our add-on patients, ensuring there are no conflicts and that we have the prior authorization we need to move forward with their appointment or procedure.

Insurance Coordinator Job Duties: This list may not include all of the duties assigned

• Verify insurance benefits for appointments and procedures

• Complete authorizations and referrals for services, including appointments and procedures

• Notify patients of deductibles and coinsurance when necessary

• Review patient's medical history and insurance coverage for approval

• Contact referring physicians for additional information as needed

• Input new patient insurance and update information in EMR system as needed

• Monitor schedule for potential issues

• Obtain authorization for imaging studies (MRI, CT)

• Assist with other clerical tasks as needed

• Utilization of online authorization sites such as RadMD, NIA, Evicore and other Insurance specific provider resources

• Maintains patient confidentiality and follows HIPAA Guidelines.

• Display a consistently positive, cooperative, self-motivated, courteous and professional attitude.

• Performs other duties as assigned

• Coordinates peer to peer conversations between insurance companies and physicians when needed.

• Provides coverage for front desk as needed

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
