Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced nurse to join our intake team in a clinically driven, client-facing role. This position bridges medicine and law by evaluating potential medical malpractice, nursing home abuse and neglect, and personal injury cases at the earliest stages. The nurse will screen cases, communicate directly with clients, and conduct detailed medical record reviews to identify deviations from the standard of care and clarify complex clinical issues. The successful candidate will translate medical facts into clear, actionable insights that guide case strategy and decision-making. While prior legal experience is helpful, we are willing to provide training for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Intake & Case Screening: Speak directly with clients and families to gather medical histories, understand their concerns, and assess the clinical strengths and weaknesses of potential cases in support of litigation viability.
- Medical Chronologies & Case Summaries: Translate client narratives and medical records into clear, chronological timelines that help attorneys quickly understand complex medical courses and key clinical decision points.
- Medical Record Review & Clinical Analysis: Conduct thorough reviews of medical records to identify deviations from the standard of care, gaps or inconsistencies in documentation, and other clinical red flags relevant to case evaluation.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN) license
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree (MSN) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in long term care or hospital setting. Previous experience working in legal/case review preferred.
- Skills: Exceptional analytical, research, and writing skills; ability to remain objective and meet strict litigation deadlines; compassionate and understanding client service skills.
