The Integration Engineer / Installer supports fielding, installation, integration, and test execution activities for system refreshes at DoD Live Training Facilities. This role requires a hands-on technical professional capable of installing, integrating, and validating hardware, software, and networking components while assisting in formal test events and on-site system verification across multiple Army installations.
The position is field-intensive and requires frequent travel to sites for installation, integration, testing, cybersecurity coordination, and Government Acceptance Testing (GAT). The successful candidate is comfortable operating in dynamic field environments and supporting multiple technical disciplines as part of an integrated team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform installation activities including rack-and-stack, hardware mounting, cabling, labeling, and physical system setup in accordance with site design and engineering documentation.
- Integrate subsystems, including servers, workstations, Video System Suite, networking infrastructure, and supporting peripherals.
- Support integration of Government Furnished Information (GFI) software and ensure compatibility with refreshed hardware.
- Execute system imaging, baseline configuration, and installation verification activities.
- Configure and validate LAN infrastructure, including VLANs, routing, and network connectivity.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network installation and integration issues during fielding and test activities.
- Execute approved test procedures in accordance with test plans, collect test data, document results, and assist with the resolution of test discrepancies.
- Participate in the execution of Baseline Tests, In-Plant Tests, Contractor Tests, Test Readiness Reviews (TRR), and Government Acceptance Tests (GAT).
- Provide on-site technical support during installation, training, testing, and transition activities.
- Ensure installation activities comply with site requirements, safety standards, and configuration management controls.
- Coordinate with systems, configuration management, network, cybersecurity, and test personnel to support successful site fielding and acceptance.
Qualifications
Required:
- 3–5 years of experience in system installation, integration, fielding, or test support for complex IT or DoD systems.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Hardware installation and rack integration
- Server and workstation integration
- Windows and/or Linux operating systems
- Network fundamentals (switching, VLANs, IP addressing)
- Experience performing cabling, equipment installation, and physical infrastructure setup.
- Ability to work independently in field environments with minimal supervision.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively (up to 75%) to multiple CONUS installation sites.
- Ability to lift and move IT equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work in rack environments.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (Secret preferred).
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field.
- Experience supporting DoD training, simulation, or instrumentation systems.
- Experience with Common Training Instrumentation Architecture (CTIA).
- Familiarity with configuration management and baseline control in a DoD environment.
- Experience supporting testing events like Government Acceptance Testing (GAT).
- Experience working with installation drawings, cable plans, and technical site documentation.
Location
- The home office is in Orlando, FL, but it is a field-intensive role.
- This position requires frequent travel to CONUS Army installations.
- Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.
