🎯 The Role: Integration Lead

We're looking for a hands-on, technically sharp Integration Lead to own and grow WasteHero's integrations function from our Cairo tech hub. You'll lead a small team of integration engineers, work closely with our Product and Customer Success teams, and be the go-to person for ensuring WasteHero fits seamlessly into any customer's existing IT landscape.

This is a high-impact role at the intersection of technical architecture, customer delivery, and product strategy. You'll be building the connective tissue of our platform.

What You'll Do

• Own the end-to-end integration lifecycle from scoping customer requirements to designing, building, and maintaining API integrations with third-party systems.
• Lead and mentor a team of integration engineers based in Cairo.
• Design scalable, reusable integration patterns using our REST API framework across systems such as ERPs (e.g., SAP, Dynamics), municipal billing & finance platforms, GIS/navigation tools, fleet management software, and CRM/customer service systems
• Collaborate with Product Management to translate integration patterns into platform-level features and self-serve connectivity.
• Partner with Customer Success and Solutions teams to scope and deliver integrations as part of customer onboarding.
• Define and maintain integration documentation, standards, and best practices across the engineering org.
• Identify strategic integration partnerships that can accelerate WasteHero's go-to-market in new regions.
• Monitor integration health and reliability in production, owning SLAs for data pipeline uptime and accuracy.

Collaborate with the Principal Engineer on designing integrations that fit into the overall platform and deployment architecture.

What We're Looking For

Must-haves:

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering or solutions architecture, with at least 2 years in a role focused on system integrations or API development.
• Deep hands-on experience with REST APIs design, authentication, versioning, and error handling.
• Experience integrating with enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, billing, fleet, GIS, any combination)
• Strong problem-solving instincts: you can untangle messy third-party API docs and turn them into clean, reliable data pipelines.
• Comfortable owning technical conversations with enterprise customers and translating business requirements into integration specs.
• Prior experience leading or mentoring a small technical team.
• Fluent in English (Danish is a plus, but not required)

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience in a SaaS or scale-up environment
• Familiarity with IoT protocols or sensor data pipelines
• Exposure to the waste management, logistics, utilities, or public sector industries
• Experience with tools like Jira, Linear, Notion, or similar for technical project management
