About the Role

Proskauer seeks a junior–mid level associate to join its Life Sciences Patent Practice. The attorney will work with leading biotech and pharmaceutical clients on IP strategy, patent prosecution, and litigation matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage global patent portfolios in life sciences.
  • Draft and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications.
  • Conduct freedom-to-operate, patentability, and invalidity analyses.
  • Support IP due diligence for transactions.
  • Assist in post-grant proceedings, IP counseling, and litigation support.

Required Qualifications

  • JD from a top-tier law school with strong academic performance (3.5+ GPA).
  • Advanced degree (PhD strongly preferred) in Chemistry, Biology, or related life sciences field.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience at a top law firm or IP boutique.
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex scientific documents with precision.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • U.S. Work Authorization required (no visa sponsorship).

Compensation

Base Salary: $100,000–$200,000
Full benefits; potential relocation assistance.
