The role

We are seeking an experienced Intelligent Transport System (ITS) Specialist to support a major urban transport BRT project in Karachi, Pakistan. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and enhancing ITS designs, ensuring effective implementation of ITS components, and supporting the tendering process for ITS systems.

• Review and assess existing ITS designs for the BRT project
• Study previous ITS implementations and relevant World Bank reports to identify lessons learned and best practices
• Support the completion and enhancement of ITS components and functionalities to meet project requirements
• Elaborate the TOR for the ITS tender process, ensuring clarity and alignment with project objectives
  
  

With a track record of achievement in a related role, you will have gained your experience in a consultancy environment and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.

Suitable Applicants Will Have/be

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Transport Engineering, or a related discipline. Master’s degree in a relevant field will be preferred
• Minimum 10 - 15 years of relevant professional experience in ITS design, implementation, or management, preferably within urban transport or BRT projects.
• Proven experience in reviewing ITS designs, enhancing system functionalities, and preparing tender documents.
• Strong report writing, technical analysis, and communication skills (English)
• Experience in ITS implementation for large-scale transport systems will be an advantage
