About the Job

Accelerate Media is seeking an experienced interactive graphic designer to join our team. We’re a modern, full-service, marketing agency that develops long-term relationships with clients who want to optimize their online presence and maximize their digital marketing efforts.

As our digital designer, you’ll collaborate with our multidisciplinary team of back- and front-end developers, marketing strategists, and project managers to design and develop on-brand, user-focused solutions for a wide range of platforms and uses, including websites and landing pages, logo/brand design, print and digital marketing/advertising, social media channels, marketing collateral, and animation/motion graphics/video.

The Ideal Candidate

You’re a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You’re able to work independently with minimal supervision, but you’re also an effective communicator, able to ensure clarity, foster collaboration, and drive successful project outcomes. You possess exceptional organizational and technical skills, including proficiency in various wireframing and design platforms.

You have a strong design background, a deep understanding of conversion rate optimization principles, and an excellent grasp of UX, usability, and accessibility best practices. You have experience in both print and digital spaces, and excellent concepting skills. You’re adept at presenting work, receiving and acting on critical feedback, creating and maintaining brand guidelines, and participating in strategy and web development discussions.

Your experience includes creating website experiences from conceptual phases with wireframes to high-fidelity mockups/prototypes and collaborating closely with developers for quality assurance. You have considerable experience preparing designs for handoff to development and understand how to create files that developers can use. In addition to design skills you also demonstrate profound empathy and an understanding of human behavior in web interactions, enabling an analytical approach to UX, ensuring designs resonate with users, and driving high conversions for our clients.

Responsibilities

Your work will be split between designing websites for new clients and creating assets and marketing materials for our roster of ongoing clients. Your designs will be conversion-focused, mobile-responsive, and user-friendly—and will meet our clients’ needs and further their marketing goals. Specific responsibilities include:

• Taking ideas from concept through execution, working collaboratively with the team but owning the design work and deliverables
• Assisting with maintenance, modernization, and optimization of client websites
• Ensuring brand/style/content consistency across multiple platforms for each client
• Providing internal support on initial project strategies, proposal development, traffic coordination
• Keeping up-to-date with the latest web design and technology trends
• Managing multiple tasks and project deadlines at a time

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years’ graphic design experience—agency experience preferred, web design experience a must (non-negotiable)
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a relevant field
• Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premier)
• Knowledge of wireframing/prototyping tools; experience with Figma strongly preferred
• Strong conceptual skills and a high sense of design, layout, and typography for print and digital solutions
• Experience working with and designing for Wordpress and Gutenberg blocks
• Solid knowledge of adaptive and responsive design
• Understanding of key website conversion tactics, UX best practices, and SEO optimization principles, and experience with related tools
• Knowledge of and passion for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
• Experience with QA processes and collaborating with developers to ensure design implementations meet quality standards
• Ability to present designs internally and externally, accept feedback from colleagues and clients, and revise designs accordingly
• Working knowledge of HTML and CSS best practices desired but not required
