Interior and Exterior Painter

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Interior and Exterior Painter to join our dynamic team. Duties

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion for both interior and exterior applications
• Apply paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless paint spraying), and power tools to achieve smooth, even coats
• Execute detailed work on trim carpentry, fixture installation, caulking, plastering, stucco, masonry, and drywall finishing to ensure flawless results
• Read blueprints and schematics to accurately interpret project specifications and color schemes based on color theory principles
• Perform surface repairs including patching holes, filling cracks, and restoring damaged areas through techniques like restoration painting and concrete finishing
• Utilize construction estimating skills to assess project scope, materials needed, and time requirements for each job
• Maintain safety standards on construction sites by handling tools properly (hand tools, power tools) and adhering to OSHA guidelines during all phases of work
• Collaborate with team members on remodeling projects involving framing carpentry, trim work, masonry, welding, and fixture installation to deliver comprehensive renovation solutions
• Conduct quality inspections throughout the project to ensure finishes meet company standards and client expectations

Experience

• Proven experience in residential painting as well as commercial or industrial painting projects with a strong portfolio of completed work
• Familiarity with construction site procedures including blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and basic math calculations for estimating materials and measurements
• Hands-on experience with various hand tools, power tools, scaffolding setup, airless paint spraying equipment, and maintenance of painting equipment
• Knowledge of construction estimating processes related to painting projects including material costs and labor time estimates
• Background in related trades such as carpentry (trim carpentry, frame carpentry), masonry (stucco), plastering, restoration work or handyman experience is highly desirable
• Ability to read technical drawings such as schematics or blueprints accurately for precise application of paint schemes or renovation details
• Strong understanding of color theory principles for selecting appropriate hues that complement architectural features or client preferences
• Experience working safely on construction sites with adherence to safety protocols involving scaffolding, ladders, welding equipment (if applicable), and handling hazardous materials
