Position Overview
The Interior Design Assistant / Project Coordinator plays a key role in supporting our design team and ensuring projects run smoothly from concept through installation. This position is ideal for someone who loves both design and organization — someone who enjoys details, timelines, and bringing projects to life behind the scenes.
Responsibilities
Design Support
- Assist with space planning, product selections, and material sourcing
- Prepare design boards, presentations, and client materials
- Order samples and maintain the materials library
- Support client meetings and site visits as needed
- Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and techniques to provide innovative solutions.
- Collaborate with clients to determine their design preferences, requirements, and budget constraints.
Project Coordination
- Track project timelines, budgets, and deliverables
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and suppliers
- Manage ordering, purchasing, and procurement processes
- Schedule deliveries and installations
- Maintain project documentation and files
- Conduct site visits to assess spaces and oversee installation processes
Administrative Support
- Assist with proposals, invoices, and client communication
- Update project management systems and spreadsheets
- General office support as needed
Skills
- 1–3 years experience in interior design, project coordination, construction, or related field required.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Detail-oriented with ability to multitask
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
- Experience with design software (SketchUp, AutoCAD, Canva, or similar) is a plus
- Knowledge of furnishings, materials, and construction processes
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Excellent budgeting skills to manage project costs effectively.
- Ability to build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and team members.
