Interior Design Studio Assistant

Position Overview: The Interior Design Studio Assistant role is a support role that primarily serves the Interior Design department through sample management, specification work, light check in and deliveries, and other general tasks. The direct function of this role is to alleviate pressures off Interior Designers to allow more time in their own primary tasks and functions. This role is meant to be developed, expanded, and re-defined based not only on the skills and strengths of the incumbent, but also by the needs of JAS

This is a full-time position with PTO accruing immediately, and full health/dental/rx plan/vision/long-term disability, and 401(k) after sixty days. We pay hourly and respect the forty hour week – all hours over forty result in overtime pay. Wage range is $20-$30/hour and will be commensurate with experience.

Duties/Expectations: Ideal applicant will have 2-4 years of design education and have worked in a fast-paced professional environment. Applicant should be proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office and have knowledge/experience sourcing interiors furnishings, interior finishes, and lighting. Applicant will maintain, manage and organize all inventory. In addition, applicant will exhibit a can-do attitude, the ability to multi-task, problem solve, and time manage while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail. Stand-out applicants will be willing to take initiative and see tasks through to the end, communicating and collaborating across all teams. The person in this position will need to move about the office and warehouse as well as make deliveries to job sites. The role includes sorting and organizing packages and items weighing up to 50lbs as needed. Assistance is readily available for heavier items. This position will work directly to assist the interior design team on both architectural interiors and interior furnishings projects. You will have a unique opportunity to serve as a liaison between both our carpenters and designers.

Travel: Frequent local travel. This role requires the design assistant to visit many job sites as well as showrooms throughout the week, sometimes on a daily basis. The design assistant must be comfortable driving and parking in Seattle. The job also requires travel to job sites further away, such as San Juan Islands, Whidbey Island, Kirkland, Redmond, and Bellevue on occasion. These days may require longer work hours to accommodate travel time.

The Interior Design Assistant will frequently interface directly with Creative Directors, Project Architects, Lead Carpenters, Project Managers.
