The Interior Designer is responsible for independently managing and executing projects while supporting staff on larger, more complex designs. This role requires a balance of creative vision, technical expertise, and client management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Execution & Leadership:
- Lead the development of design concepts, space planning, and test fits, ensuring adherence to client goals, budget, and scope.
- Develop comprehensive Construction Documentation (CD) sets, including detailed drawings, specifications, and finish schedules.
- Manage the selection, specification, and procurement of FF&E.
- Client & Stakeholder Management:
- Lead client presentations and meetings, effectively communicating design intent and incorporating feedback.
- Coordinate directly with architects, engineers, contractors, and specialized consultants.
- Maintain project budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
- Technical & Regulatory Compliance:
- Conduct thorough site visits and construction administration duties, reviewing drawings and addressing RFIs (Requests for Information).
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and accessibility standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field.
- 1-4 years of professional experience in an interior design firm.
- Advanced proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Demonstrated experience managing projects from concept through construction administration.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
