An Interior Designer is responsible for planning, designing, and executing interior spaces that are functional, aesthetically pleasing, and aligned with client needs. The role involves concept creation, material selection, 2D/3D design preparation, site supervision, and project coordination.
Key Responsibilities1. Design & Concept Development
- Create concept designs, mood boards, color schemes, and space planning layouts.
- Prepare 2D drawings, 3D renders, and design presentations using AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Lumion, or similar software.
- Develop design solutions that balance aesthetics and functionality.
2. Client Interaction
- Meet clients to understand requirements and design preferences.
- Present design options and make revisions based on client feedback.
- Provide guidance on furniture layouts, décor, lighting, and materials.
3. Materials & Vendor Coordination
- Select appropriate materials, finishes, fabrics, flooring, lighting fixtures, etc.
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, carpenters, and contractors for timely execution.
- Prepare BOQs, material lists, and cost estimates.
4. Site Execution & Supervision
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure design accuracy.
- Coordinate with site teams to maintain quality and timelines.
- Review measurements, check workmanship, and resolve on-site issues.
5. Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare working drawings, detail drawings, and technical documents.
- Maintain project files and ensure adherence to project timelines.
- Ensure designs follow industry standards and safety guidelines.
