About Amber Modern

We are a home staging and interior design business in Flagstaff, Arizona, currently in its third year of growth. We work with listing agents, real estate investors, home builders, and short-term rental operators to create spaces that sell and inspire. We’re looking for a driven, licensed designer to grow alongside us.

About the Role

This is a part-time contract position with real potential to evolve into a full-time role for the right person. You’ll work closely with the founder on interior design projects, client relationships, and staging installations, while also helping to generate new business.

We are a small, hands-on team. You won’t just be designing from a desk, you’ll also be assisting with staging installations on-site, assisting with organizing inventory, and occasionally being on-site for interior design projects during the building and preparation stage.

This role is especially well-suited for someone who wants to grow within a company, not just fill a seat. Demonstrated leadership and business development over time can lead to a Project Manager position.

What You’ll Do

• Work on interior design projects from concept through completion, with a focus on builder and developer partnerships
• Meet with clients one-on-one to assess needs, present design concepts, and manage the relationship professionally
• Use space planning and 3D modeling software to develop and present design plans
• Actively pursue and develop new interior design clients, earning commission on each client you bring in
• Assist with home staging installations, including helping move and place lightweight furniture and decor
• Help maintain and organize staging inventory and our warehouse
• Assist with light cleaning and prep at staging sites
• Follow company procedures and checklists with strong attention to detail
• Collaborate with the founder and occasional part-time staging staff on installs

Requirements

• Licensed interior designer (NCIDQ, state license, or equivalent credential)
• Proficiency in at least one space planning or 3D modeling software (SketchUp, AutoCAD, Chief Architect, RoomSketcher, or similar)
• Professional, polished communication with clients and industry partners
• Self-motivated with a positive, proactive attitude
• Ability to work in person in Flagstaff, AZ (some remote flexibility available)
• Physical ability to assist with light staging moves and on-site installs
• Comfortable following detailed procedures and checklists
• Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with multiple interior design software platforms
• Previous team lead or project management experience
• Background in residential design, new construction, or builder-facing work
• Familiarity with staging, furniture sourcing, or real estate design
• Existing relationships with builders, agents, or developers in the Flagstaff area

• Competitive hourly contract rate based on experience
• Commission paid on each new interior design client you bring to the company
• Staging experience and full training provided, no prior staging background required
