What We Need:

We are seeking an interior designer with a minimum of 5 years experience. The candidate should have an in-depth knowledge of high-end product brands for interiors, luxury residential design experience.

Strong desire to contribute and collaborate with the design team towards layered and engaging presentations across various mediums. This includes developing mood boards, 3-D modeling (using REVIT), CAD drawings, conducting image research, selecting materials, selecting high-end furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E), and performing other related tasks as assigned.

1. Interior Design Vision & Concept Development:

  • Establish the overall interior design vision for all assigned projects in alignment with client goals and project parameters.
  • Collaborate with the Project Designer and client to define design intent, aesthetic direction, and functional requirements.
  • Develop conceptual design solutions that respond to program needs, schedule, and budget.
  • Inspire innovative, cohesive design concepts across projects.
  • Ensure interior design direction aligns with Jenkins Design Build’s design standards and brand.

2. Client Engagement & Design Leadership:

  • Conduct client presentations and design meetings with professionalism and clarity.
  • Guide clients through complex design decisions while managing expectations.
  • Serve as a key design liaison between the client, architect, and project team.
  • Translate client feedback into refined interior design solutions.
  • Build trust and long-term client relationships through strong communication and follow-through.

3. Interior Documentation & Design Integrity:

  • Develop and review interior plans, elevations, and details that clearly illustrate design intent.
  • Review construction documents and specifications to ensure interior design intent is maintained.
  • Coordinate interior design details within Revit to support accurate construction execution.
  • Ensure all interior material selections are documented and client approved in Buildertrend.
  • Maintain high attention to detail throughout all phases of design.

4. Product Research, Selection & Procurement Oversight:

  • Research, select, and specify interior products, finishes, furniture, and systems.
  • Oversee procurement to ensure selections align with design intent, budget, and schedule.
  • Coordinate with vendors and consultants regarding specifications and lead times.
  • Review samples, mockups, and submittals for design compliance.
  • Resolve product-related issues proactively to avoid schedule or budget impacts.

5. Team Collaboration & Design Mentorship:

  • Collaborate closely with the full project team to ensure integrated design solutions.
  • Provide clear direction, mentoring, and feedback to junior interior design staff.
  • Promote design excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Support team members in meeting project deadlines, budget goals, and quality expectations.
  • Model professionalism, initiative, and leadership consistent with company values.

Education:

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in high-end residential design and or boutique hospitality projects.

Skills You Must Have:

  • Software: Must have proficiency in Revit; Adobe Photoshop; AutoCAD; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and SketchUp.
  • Softskills: Understanding of furniture, millwork, and cabinetry construction, detailing, and related shop drawing review process. Acute and unapologetic attention to detail.
