Interior Designer - Architectural

Job Summary

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Interior Designer to join our contracting company. The candidate will be responsible for developing interior design concepts, preparing drawings and specifications, coordinating with site teams, consultants, and suppliers, and ensuring that design intent is executed accurately on site within approved budgets and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop interior design concepts, mood boards, space planning, and material selections as per client requirements and project scope.
• Prepare detailed drawings including layouts, elevations, sections, joinery details, and finish schedules.
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure proper implementation of designs.
• Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, samples, and mock-ups.
• Attend client meetings, site meetings, and coordination meetings as required.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Ensure designs comply with local authority regulations, building codes, and project specifications.
• Assist in preparing BOQs, cost estimates, and value engineering proposals when required.
• Manage design changes and revisions during execution while maintaining design intent.
• Coordinate with MEP and structural teams to resolve clashes related to interior works.
• Maintain proper documentation, design records, and project correspondence.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Interior Design / Architecture or related field.
• Strong knowledge of interior fit-out works, materials, finishes, and construction methods.
• Experience in residential, commercial, retail, or hospitality projects (preferred).
• Familiarity with UAE/GCC construction standards and authority approvals is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3Ds Max, Photoshop, or similar design software.
• Good understanding of joinery, finishes, FF&E, and site coordination.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects.
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
• Team player with a proactive and professional attitude.

Working Conditions

• Office-based with frequent site visits.
• May require flexible working hours to meet project deadlines.
