Position: Entry-Level Commercial Interior Designer

Location: Uptown Dallas, TX, Dallas World Trade Center

We are a boutique interior design firm based in Uptown Dallas specializing in high-end senior living and multi-family commercial projects. Our firm thrives on creativity and collaboration, and we are looking for a talented entry-level interior designer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and planning of senior living and multi-family commercial projects.
  • Work closely with senior designers on space planning, FF&E selection, and project documentation.
  • Develop Revit models for design proposals and construction documentation.
  • Collaborate with project teams and clients to ensure designs meet their needs and expectations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design (please do not apply if you education and background is in Graphic Design)
  • Proficiency or educational experience in Revit is a must.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A positive, can-do attitude with a passion for learning and growing in the field.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues, clients, and vendors.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Prepare and present professional design proposals with Senior Designers to ownership/investors.

· Ability to ensure spaces functional, safe, and beautiful by determining space requirements and selecting decorative items, such as colors, lighting, flooring, and materials.

· Attend construction documentation/design reviews with senior designers, architects, owner/operators

· Complete interior finish schedules, furniture plans, and all selections for your community building.

· Understanding of SD Schematic Design, CD Construction Design, and DD Design Development phases and the requirements of each in commercial design

· Attend design reviews with Senior Designers for job direction

· Ability to take and follow the direction of the PM and Design Director

· Must be a team player and want to work in an office environment that is fast-paced with a team that enjoys life and having a good time while being dedicated to our customer's needs

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:

· Excellent problem-solving, analytic, and organizational skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment.

· Strong interpersonal skills with a high level of integrity and dependability.

· Professional written, verbal, and presentation communications skills..

· Ability to perform accurate work and adhere to strict deadlines.

· Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Suite

(Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat).

· Proficient in REVIT (SketchUp knowledge and skill is a plus).

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

· Working conditions are a normal office environment

· Work requires occasional standing, sitting, and the ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds

· Position schedule is 9-5pm M-F in Office, Uptown Dallas (Do not apply if you do not plan to live and work from Dallas)

· Travel required, we build and design all over the US Regular site visits are required and all hands on deck installations are required by all SBD staff
