Interior Designer Luxury New Home Construction

Duties

• Conduct frequent on-site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure design intent is properly executed
• Verify installation of finishes, materials, lighting, cabinetry, tile, flooring, paint, and millwork for accuracy and quality
• Make real-time field decisions when unforeseen conditions arise to maintain design integrity
• Communicate discrepancies between plans and field conditions to the designer and project manager
• Review shop drawings, submittals, and material deliveries for compliance with design specifications
• Coordinate directly with trades to clarify details and correct issues before they become problems
• Maintain organized field notes, photo documentation, and punch lists related to design items
• Assist with material selections and confirm correct products are ordered and installed
• Track design-related items through construction to ensure nothing is missed
• Support client walk-throughs and help prepare spaces for presentation
• Assist in resolving warranty and punch list items related to design and finishes
• Use Bluebeam, CAD drawings, and design documents to verify field accuracy
• Ensure high-end finish quality standards are consistently upheld across projects

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field preferred
• 3–7 years of experience in residential construction, interior design, or field coordination
• Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, elevations, and finish schedules
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Bluebeam, or similar tools
• Exceptional attention to detail and quality standards
• Strong communication skills to work directly with trades, designers, and project managers
• Ability to problem-solve quickly and make confident decisions in the field
• Organized, proactive, and comfortable in an active construction environment
• Understanding of high-end materials, finishes, and installation methods
• Passion for luxury residential design with a focus on precision and execution
