We’re looking for an ambitious interior designer looking to grow with a design-build startup opening a new showroom in the heart of the North Shore. Someone who loves the process of bringing a home to life, from the first idea all the way through construction.

At Kaage Homes, we specialize in historic homes, thoughtful renovations, and new builds that feel like they’ve always been there. Our work is rooted in creating spaces that are beautiful, layered, and timeless, but also highly intentional in how they’re built.

This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to be deeply involved in the full design process. Someone who can sit with a client, understand how they want to live, and translate that into drawings, details, and decisions that guide the project all the way through execution.

You’ll be working on real homes, with real constraints, where design matters. Not just aesthetically, but in how everything ultimately comes together.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll support and lead pieces of projects from concept through construction, including:

• Developing layouts, interior elevations, and cabinetry designs
• Creating thoughtful, cohesive material palettes, mood boards and selections
• Translating ideas into clear, buildable drawings and documentation
• Sitting in on client meetings and helping guide design decisions
• Collaborating with our team and builders to bring each project to life
• Participating in consultations at our showroom, The Workshoppe

We’re looking for someone who…

• Has 3–5 years of experience in residential interior design or design-build
• Has a strong eye and genuinely cares about creating beautiful spaces
• Understands how homes are put together, not just how they look
• Is comfortable working in drawings (CAD, Chief Architect, Sketchup, etc.)
• Can take initiative and move a project forward without constant direction
• Communicates well with both clients and team members
• Is excited by historic homes and the challenge of working within them
