Summary/Objective We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Interior Designer to join our residential remodeling team. This role involves creating detailed design plans, material selections, and visual concepts for renovation projects ranging from small updates to large-scale remodels. The designer will work exclusively within residential spaces, focusing on crafting environments that are both aesthetically appealing and highly functional for everyday living.
The ideal candidate should have a strong knowledge of a wide variety of interior materials, finishes, and products, including their practical applications and performance in different residential settings. Designs must balance artistic vision with functional purpose, tailored to meet the unique needs and lifestyles of each client.
Collaboration is key in this role. The designer will work closely with architects, and other specialists while regularly consulting with clients to bring their vision to life. Maintaining a high standard of professionalism, integrity, and customer service is essential, as is a positive and proactive attitude throughout all phases of the design process.
Essential Functions
- Knowledge of residential construction & Building Materials
- Attend & facilitate client meetings
- Determine the client’s goals and requirements of the project
- Consider how the space will be used and how people will move through the space
- Draw floor plans, elevations, tile/cabinet layouts and electrical layouts in AutoCad
- Specify materials and fixtures, such as lighting, cabinets, countertops, windows, doors, wall finishes, flooring, and plumbing fixtures, hardware, and millwork.
- Prepare final drawings, using computer applications
- Gather quotes for selected materials
- Create a timeline for the interior design project and estimate project costs
- Prepare and update written scopes of work
- Place orders for all selected materials
- Jobsite visits – before, during, and after completion of the project
- Knowledge in 3D applications
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications
- Preferred: knowledge with BuilderTrend

- Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, subcontractors, engineers & architects and any others related to the completion of the project.
- Strong sense of proportion and visual awareness, to understand how pieces of a design will fit together to create the intended interior environment.
Expected Hours of Work
7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday - Friday
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design required.
- 5-10 years of experience Remodeling/Construction Industry
- 3-5 years of experience with cabinetry design
- Must be proficient in AutoCAD LT
- Proficiency in other programs such as Revit and Chief Architect are a plus
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Submit current portfolio
- Ability to pass a drug screening & background check
- Valid Washington State driver’s license & reliable transportation with clean driving record
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
