If you are an Interior Designer living in the Vail Valley—or ready to relocate to the mountains—we have a new and exciting opportunity at Hygge Life.

We are seeking an Interior Designer with a strong affinity for warm modern interiors and timeless Scandinavian design to join our growing team. This role will offer both interior design and styling services to our established and eager clientele, with a home base in the Hygge Life showroom in Eagle-Vail. You’ll work daily surrounded by some of the world’s best furniture, lighting, and design while helping expand our styling services into full-scale interior design projects.

This is a new and evolving role at Hygge Life. We are intentionally open to candidates at different stages of their careers—from a talented junior designer ready to grow, to a more established designer interested in leadership and shaping the future of our design services. The scope, compensation, and structure of the role (employment or partnership-style arrangement) will be discussed based on experience and fit.

About Hygge Life
Since 2017, Hygge Life is a Scandinavian inspired furniture, lighting and home decor showroom with an intimate Café located on Hwy 6 in Eagle-Vail. It has become a destination for Vail Valley locals, visitors and design enthusiasts from Denver, Boulder, Aspen and around the state.

The Showroom
Our showroom features thoughtfully curated products from trusted designers and makers across Scandinavia, Europe, and the U.S. Every object—from furniture to lighting to décor—is selected for its warmth, soul, and story, reflecting our vision of hygge and intentional living.

The Café
An extension of the showroom, the café invites guests to slow down and connect—whether inside our cozy space or around the fire on the sunny patio. Visitors are encouraged to unplug, browse design books and newspapers, and enjoy coffee, tea, and locally baked pastries.

Position Overview:
Hygge Life Interior Designer & Stylist

This role blends interior design, styling, and showroom-based client engagement. Depending on experience, the designer will support and/or lead full-scale interior design projects while also playing an active role in the day-to-day design desk and customer experience. As Hygge Life’s interior design services expand, this position offers meaningful opportunity for growth, increased responsibility, and leadership. We are looking for a personable, organized, driven, and aesthetically refined professional with a strong appreciation for luxury European design.

Pay & Benefits:

• $70,000–$90,000 base salary, depending on experience, role scope, and level of responsibility

Responsibilities:

• Operate the Hygge Life Design Desk with a focus on furniture, lighting, and catalog sales
• Create a welcoming, memorable, and “hygge” experience for every customer
• Greet and assist clients in a friendly, knowledgeable, and professional manner
• Provide interior design and styling guidance for furnishings and home décor
• Support and/or lead full-scale interior design projects, depending on experience
• Collaborate with clients from initial concept through installation
• Develop strong product knowledge across all Hygge Life brands and catalogues
• Assist clients with upholstery, color, and material selections
• Process sales, invoicing, and checkout using Shopify POS
• Place and manage furniture purchase orders for clients and showroom
• Communicate with vendors regarding product availability, lead times, and updates
• Track orders from inquiry through delivery, providing excellent customer service throughout
• Maintain and update the Order Master List
• Communicate weekly with the team regarding order status and timelines

Qualifications & Skills:

• Interior Design degree or equivalent training
• Professional experience in interior design or a related field (junior to senior level considered)
• Strong design sensibility aligned with warm modern and Scandinavian aesthetics
• Interest and affinity for luxury European and Scandinavian design
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
• Retail sales or showroom experience is a plus
• Understanding of POS systems and purchasing processes
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-facing environment
• Comfortable standing for extended periods
• Photography / photo-shoot styling experience is a plus
