ABOUT US

Strad Studio is a residential interior design firm, dedicated to crafting elevated and refined custom homes. Our studio is seeking an experienced freelance Design Drafter to join our close-knit and collaborative team. Reporting to the Owner/Creative Director, the Design Drafter collaborates with the project coordinator and interior design team to create construction documentation assets for high-end residential projects. To ensure success as a Design Drafter, you should possess an advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Suite, with the ability to materialize design intent with designer-provided specifications. We’re seeking a hybrid role, with a majority of work preformed remotely, however on-site project visitation required. Position will be part-time to start

WHO YOU ARE

You are a detail-oriented and technically skilled drafter with a strong command of residential construction documentation. You produce clear, accurate drawings, work efficiently within established standards and communicate well with designers, architects, builders, and vendors. Organized, proactive, and collaborative, you thrive in a fast-paced environment and take pride in supporting the creation of beautiful, well-executed homes. You understand the design process and are invested in upholding our brand standards and superior customer service.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Proficient in producing 2D construction documents, including floor plans, elevations, RCPs, and lighting plans.
• Advanced AutoCAD skills: drawing setup, layers, dim styles, X-Refs, viewports, scales, hatches, plotting, and title blocks.
• Ability to interpret design intent packages and material/finish schedules to create accurate elevations and model views.
• Capable of calculating dimensions and square-footage takeoffs to support project budgeting.
• Skilled in reviewing and auditing drawings for accuracy and resolving spatial/proportion issues.
• Collaborative problem-solver able to revise drawings efficiently based on feedback.
• Willing to adopt company file-naming systems and maintain organized CAD documentation.
• Conduct job-site visits and collect as-built measurements as needed.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and clear communication

• Exceptional Communication: Collaborate effectively with team members and support client interactions with professionalism and composure.

MINIMUM PERFORMANCE METRICS

• Timely and accurate completion of drafting deliverables, including drawings and presentations.
• Positive feedback from team members and clients on professionalism and quality of work.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt and contribute to various phases of the design process.

Performance metrics will be evaluated and assigned annually in alignment with Strad Studio strategic objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Interior Design, or a related field (preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in design support or a related role, ideally in high-end residential projects.
• Proficiency in design software (CAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite).
• Experience with project management software (Houzz).
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of building codes and luxury materials (preferred).
• Fully authorized to work in the U.S.
• 3D Rendering Experience (preferred).

Pay: $42.00 - $48.00 per hour

Experience:

• Drafting: 3 years (Preferred)
