Intermediate Architect/Designer I

Summary:

Jackson | Main Architecture is seeking a driven, passionate Intermediate Architect/ Designer I (ID1) who is eager to learn and grow in an environment of open communication and collaboration. The ID1 will work under the direction of an Architect Designer III (ID3) or Project Manager to produce documents, ensuring adherence to JMA production guidelines. Primary responsibilities include assisting with schematic design, drawing production, construction documentation, and preliminary design.

This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task. Attention to detail, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills, is essential.

The ID1 will help support our team by assisting in the development and creation of project documents, such as schematic design, design development, and code compliance review in collaboration with the Architect Designer III (ID3) and/or Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to schematic design, drawing production, and construction documentation including presentations and renderings.
  • Follow JMA production guidelines.
  • Assist with preliminary design, design development, code compliance review, and consultant coordination.
  • Maintain organized project files, including correspondence.
  • Manage client expectations and coordinate communication among the team and consultants.

Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture or Interior Design
  • Strong commitment to client satisfaction
  • Effective communication skills
  • Outstanding graphic presentation skills
  • Willingness to adapt to a variety of project types, and market sectors and be on multiple projects in various stages of development
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship management skills
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams)
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and SketchUp required; Adobe applications (Photoshop, and Illustrator), 3-D Studio Max, Enscape or similar modeling software desired

Seattle Office:
Our Seattle office is a beautifully renovated historic building in Pioneer Square. Note that our office has an unavoidable staircase - all applicants must be able to manage two flights of stairs. Compensation:
The position is full-time and classified as non-exempt; the pay range for this position is $29.18 – $35.84 per hour (dependent on experience).
