CHCS summer interns will work on initiatives related to improving care for people enrolled in Medicaid. CHCS initiatives focus on a variety of topic areas including delivery system and payment reform; leadership and capacity building for public health leaders; and improving care for adults with complex health and social needs, children, and families. In this role, interns will have an opportunity to participate in project activities, develop content knowledge, develop dissemination skills, and engage with different stakeholders and topic areas related to Medicaid policy. In addition to project work, the internship will provide opportunities for professional networking and building skills through intern-specific programming.
This will be a full-time, non-exempt, seasonal position (40 hours per week). Interns will report to an intern coordinator, and the job is based in the CHCS office, near Princeton, NJ (located directly next to a NJ Transit stop). Local candidates are preferred; remote candidates outside of the NJ/NY/PA area will be considered but will be required to travel to the home office periodically. The internship will begin in mid/late May and will last 12-15 weeks.

Participate in relevant project calls, including internal team meetings, calls with funders, and other external stakeholders;

Conduct research related to project topics in support of technical assistance and/or written resource development;

Support planning and preparation for group learning activities, webinars, or other events;

Support notetaking and follow up activities for project meetings; and

Develop a final presentation to conclude their internship.

Experience, familiarity with, and/or interest in health care policy, public health, and Medicaid;

Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion;

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills;

Strong writing and research skills; and

Current graduate students in a program in a related field (e.g., public policy, public health, health management, social work) are preferred.
The internship role pays $18/hour.
