Position Title: Accounting Intern – Summer 2026

Department: Accounting and Finance - 1220

Direct Report: Sr. Director, Accounting

Position Summary:

The accounting intern provides crucial administrative and technical support to the finance department, handling tasks like accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, data entry, and month-end closing procedures. They gain hands-on experience with accounting software (e.g., Great Plains) and GAAP, while assisting with audits, tax preparation, and general financial record maintenance

Responsibilities:

Perform month-end close tasks ensuring the appropriate recognition and classification of Georgia Aquarium transactions. Perform audit/review tasks as requested.

Important Dates for Summer 2026 Semester:

Mandatory Summer 2026 Orientation: Wednesday, May 27th, 2026.
