Intern, AI Developer

Position Overview

As an AI Developer Intern at HealthStream, you will be at the forefront of integrating cutting-edge artificial intelligence into our products and services. You will work on high-impact projects ranging from developing AI Platform Services to building full-stack AI prototypes and internal tooling.

This role offers the opportunity to collaborate cross-functionally with product and business teams to design and implement innovative AI solutions. You will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where you can quickly learn new technologies and make a tangible impact on our AI initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of AI Platform Services.
  • Build and deploy full-stack AI prototypes and internal tooling to support business needs.
  • Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business teams to identify opportunities and develop AI-driven solutions.
  • Research, experiment with, and implement emerging Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Machine Learning technologies.
  • Translate complex technical concepts and communicate project progress effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with (or strong willingness to learn) programming languages and frameworks, specifically Python and React.
  • Basic understanding of Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Machine Learning concepts.
  • Exposure to Version Control Software (e.g., Azure DevOps, Git/GitHub) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) workflows.
  • Introductory knowledge of or interest in Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Relevant coursework, personal/academic projects, or foundational knowledge in computer science, software engineering, or data science.

Requirements

  • Highly self-sufficient and proactive, with the ability to independently troubleshoot and surface issues when encountered.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of bridging the gap between technical and non-technical audiences.
  • High adaptability and eagerness to quickly learn and apply new technologies, tools, and systems.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and rapidly evolving environment.

More Details

  • This role will be paid at 18 an Hr.
  • Full time 35-40 hours
  • The program will run for 10-12 weeks depending on availability
