Intern - Bilingual

SUMMARY

The Bilingual Intern participates in a structured 10-week internship program designed to provide comprehensive exposure to banking operations and department-specific functions. The program consists of four weeks of foundational training in banking operations, followed by six weeks of focused experience within a designated department. Through hands-on involvement, cross-training, and guided learning, the intern will develop practical knowledge of community banking, banking processes, compliance standards, technology in banking and organizational operations.

The Bilingual Intern will work with the Mortgage and Retail Banking Departments to gain knowledge about bilingual banking and learn how we are bridging the cultural gap in community banking. This position will be onsite in our Fort Worth - Hulen location from June 1st to August 7th, 2026.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE

Weeks 1–4: Banking Operations Rotation
During the first four weeks, the intern will gain foundational exposure to branch and call center operations. Responsibilities may include assisting with teller transactions, supporting the information counter, observing new account setup procedures, learning basic lending processes, understanding supervisory functions, and responding to incoming department calls. The intern will also complete assigned training modules and case studies while developing an understanding of TexasBank policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.

Weeks 5–10: Department-Specific Rotation
During the final six weeks, the intern will transition to a designated department aligned with business needs and the intern’s academic interests. Under the guidance of department leadership, the intern will assist with operational projects, reporting, process improvement initiatives, and other assigned duties. This phase provides deeper exposure to departmental objectives, compliance standards, and strategic initiatives.

JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist personnel with operational activities and assigned projects.
  • Complete required training modules and case studies within established timelines.
  • Participate in cross-training and gain hands-on experience in multiple banking functions.
  • Develop an understanding of compliance standards by adhering to TexasBank policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Prepare and submit reports as assigned by a supervisor or management.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects to support organizational objectives and operational efficiency.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work is performed in an air-conditioned office environment.
  • Consistent and timely attendance is required to support operational needs and service standards.

PHYSICIAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, twist, and reach.
  • Ability to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation.
  • Ability to perform extended keyboarding.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bilingual (Spanish)

Actively enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in business, finance, banking, or a related field, with junior or senior standing anticipated in the upcoming academic term.
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
Eligibility to work in the United States.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Effective organizational and time management skills.
Demonstrated eagerness to learn in a professional environment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn banking systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Interest in banking compliance, policies, and regulatory standards.
Willingness to participate in cross-training and assume responsibilities across multiple departments.
