In this role
The Intern Project Manager acts as the organizational core for our consultancy engagements. You will help move projects from the initial research phase through to final commercial advice, ensuring that the logic remains consistent and that every piece of information is ordered to help a board making a major decision in the Gulf region. This position is about managing the sequence of work and the clarity of data rather than just tracking tasks on a spreadsheet.
Working closely with our senior team, you will witness how commercial calls are made in real time. Your contribution helps us maintain our standard of direct, jargon-free advice by keeping project workstreams focused and evidence-based. This is a fully remote role that requires a high degree of personal discipline and a serious approach to professional responsibility.
About Gulf Associates
Gulf Associates is a management consultancy built around the commercial decisions that move enterprises forward in the Gulf region. We advise boards, family groups, and international investors on the choices that define their regional success, from market entry and complex partnerships to long-term governance transitions. Our approach is direct. We focus on the commercial call itself rather than producing expansive reports. This means reading how counterparties and regulators actually behave and understanding the sequence of events over the coming years.
Because we maintain a small book of active engagements, our senior team stays deeply involved in the work from first contact through to the commercial outcome. Every position at the firm is fully remote, allowing us to bring together specialists who understand different sectors and regional dynamics without being tied to a single physical hub. We look for people who prefer clear reasoning and who value the discipline of getting the job done right. Our culture is professional and discreet, reflecting the high-stakes nature of the advice we provide to our clients.
What you will do

Draft concise briefs that summarize the current commercial environment for specific sectors across the region.
-
Map counterparties and track their actions and statements within regional markets to build a profile of their behavior.
-
Maintain the project timeline to ensure all preparation for client briefings happens according to our internal logic.
-
Assist in the preparation of decision-support materials that help clients understand the potential outcomes of their choices.
-
Monitor regional news and regulatory updates to identify likely shifts in the business environment.
-
Coordinate internal documentation to ensure all team members have access to the latest research and project notes.
-
Support the senior advisory team by synthesizing complex data into simple, readable updates.
What you bring
-
A background in economics, political science, or business with a focus on how regional markets function.
-
The ability to write clearly and professionally without relying on corporate buzzwords or filler.
-
Natural attention to detail and an interest in how small events influence large commercial outcomes.
-
A preference for logical thinking and the ability to organize multiple streams of information into a coherent order.
-
The discipline required to work effectively in a fully remote environment without constant direct supervision.
-
An understanding of the importance of discretion when handling sensitive commercial and legal information.
-
A genuine interest in the long-term economic development of the Gulf region and the role of sovereign capital.
What the role offers
-
A permanent, full-time position in a fully remote working environment that offers geographic flexibility.
-
Direct exposure to the decision-making processes of senior commercial advisors and regional experts.
-
A steep learning curve in the mechanics of regional expansion, partnership structures, and commercial diplomacy.
-
A working culture that values clear logic and finished work over hours spent in unnecessary meetings.
-
The opportunity to build a career in a specialized firm that handles high-stakes challenges for sophisticated clients.
