<Job Overview>
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Intern in Social Work/Human Services to support our team in delivering essential community-based services. This paid internship offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills in social work, crisis intervention, and behavioral health within a supportive environment. The intern will assist with client engagement, crisis management, and coordination of services aimed at improving the well-being of diverse populations.

<Responsibilities>

  • Assist in conducting assessments to identify clients' needs related to mental health, addiction, child welfare, or community support.
  • Support crisis intervention efforts by providing immediate assistance and de-escalation techniques under supervision.
  • Participate in planning and implementing behavioral health and workforce development programs.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop individualized service plans that promote client independence and stability.
  • Help coordinate services such as Section 8 housing assistance, Medicare support, or childcare resources for clients.
  • Engage in mentoring and supportive activities for clients to foster positive socialization and personal growth.
  • Document client interactions accurately while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with organizational policies.

<Qualifications>

  • Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a degree program in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or related field.
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in crisis management, addiction counseling, or behavioral health services.
  • Familiarity with social service programs such as Section 8 housing, Medicare, or child welfare systems is preferred, but not needed.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to provide empathetic support and active listening.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.
  • Experience in supervising or mentoring others is a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge of motivational interviewing techniques and crisis intervention strategies is desirable. This internship provides valuable hands-on experience within a dynamic social services environment dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families we serve.

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
