The Senior Internal Auditor is responsible for planning & conducting internal audits & reviews across the organization, highlighting key risks and developing recommendations for improvement in control environment.
Job Responsibilities
Details

Perform internal audit assurance and advisory engagements in accordance with the Audit Plan, Audit Manual and professional audit standards (IPPF)

Own the audit planning, fieldwork and reporting and ensure comprehensive scope coverage and effective evaluation of internal controls to identify areas of risk, and control deficiencies

Make suitable recommendations on improving policies, products, systems and processes

Draft reports, summaries, and findings based on the conducted audit work

Engage with auditees/ process owners for effective communication of findings and arriving at the corrective action plan

Ensure findings are supported by high quality workpapers and all audit documentation is completed in accordance with the auditing standards and company policy

Conduct follow-up reviews on corrective actions plans to ensure their effective implementation

Undertake specific internal audit reviews and ad-hoc requests, based on assignment by the Chief Internal Auditor and/or the Audit Committee

Provide data driven insights into evaluation of company’s internal controls, risk management and governance processes
-
Contribute to business development activities, proposals and project delivery relating to advisory/consultancy prospects

Role Specifications
Education
-
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
-
Accounting qualification (CA, ACCA, CPA)

Professional certifications such as CIA, CRMA, CISA, CFE are preferred
Experience
-
Minimum 5 years of prior internal and/or external audit experience preferably within banking and financial services industry
Technical
-
Strong understanding of internal audit standards, principles and code of ethics, Risk & Control concepts
-
Strong understanding of IFRS, GAAP and the IAS
-
Understanding of products, systems, processes, risks and controls in a retail banking / financial services industry
-
Adequate knowledge of UAE Central Bank regulations
-
Proficiency in MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SQL & Power BI
